Re: SAKHO or CARROLL: who should start?
Its a moot question and involves tactical awareness and a measure of the opposition

Re: Sakho v Carroll: who should start?
If Sakho isn't fit for Everton we should start Valencia instead of Carroll.

I think the fact bilic hopes sakho is back for Everton tells you all you need to know about pecking order...

Re: Sakho v Carroll: who should start?
Bad day at the office all round. Shit happens and time to move on. Carroll is a good alternative. He needs not to put himself under so much pressure. He also needs to accept that Sakho is all round a better footballer and striker so Carroll will be second fiddle here. Whether the owners will put up with such an expensive sub is another matter.

I am not sure how this is even a question..

NS, and he deserved it.

But he also said that we didnt lose because of that, and the team effort was unacceptable.
Also saying how much he missed Sakho

Bilic given the Durham Bumper a right going over in the Sun today...

ioc, why don't you save yourself a load of time, hold your hands up, and admit you called it a mile long on Carroll.

You'll be a much better man for it.

I agree specifically about Carroll. I have seen him be a lot better with his feet, both early in his career and in flashes with us.

I hope he has not somehow lost that permanently and this is mental. He got his first start and he seemed to be under pressure from himself, every time he touched the ball. Until he works that out, he should not start unless he has to and until he shows differently.

That said and taking into account that all our other players were pretty poor, I still think Bilic does need a better plan for games like that and it should not be just throwing on every attacking player we have on the bench.

You are right. It's about the quality of players and how they recognise each specific situation. Bilic isn't stupid enough to say to the players they must look to get the ball down and play on the counter in all situations.

Even the best managers in the world understand 'Row Z' in specific situations. And that's exactly what Carroll should've done when he got the second chance.

Players have to analyse situations in split seconds and, for me, Carroll was too slow in thought and action.

I think there is something important in there.

Just my opinion but it seems our players have been instructed by the manager to keep the ball moving and always look for the counter-attack. On the whole that is great and one of the big reason we have been as successful as we have been.

However, when teams are patient with us and we start to get frustrated, it has led to individual errors. Cresswell, Jenkinson, Noble, even Payet and now Carroll have made individual mistakes that led to goals against.

I think as the players get used to that, thing will get better. If not they probably need replacing but I also think that we can't just play on counter-attack all the time and we need to have a better plan when the game or opposition calls for us to be more patient.

Re: Sakho v Carroll: who should start?
Both Sakho and Zarate ahead of the lump of piss who can only head the ball nothing else.Let BFS sign him in January we play better as a team without him.He stopped caring about football when he signed for us.

Re: Sakho v Carroll: who should start?
Not just saying this because Carroll fucked up but when you look at the modern game, in my opinion, Carroll is not even in Sakho's league.

Carroll, from hero to zero in a week.

Re: Sakho v Carroll: who should start?
I'd say it was a combination of being flustered, trying to avoid hoofing it (as they may have been told to, he just tried to apply it in the wrong place) and trying to atone for the original air shot.

All the usual reasons someone makes a mistake, Eddie.

Good point. So WHY was he trying to do such an idiotic move then? You despair when an 8 year old tries that on a sunday morning.

Re: Sakho v Carroll: who should start?
I just don't get what the fuck he was trying to do with their first goal.
He's already fucked up trying to clear it with his (dodgy) right, managed to get it onto his preferred left foot, but then tried a fucking Cruyff turn in his own box.

How arrogant have you got to be to try that!
